Following their 6-1 demolition of Peachtree City MOBA on Saturday, Nashville SC's U23 side have climbed up the Eastern Conference power rankings published by the PDL. After beginning the season outside of the top five and among the honorable mentions, NSC is up to No. 4 following their regular season PDL debut.
At the end of the season, the top two finishers in the South Atlantic Division automatically advance to the Eastern Conference championship. It's still early days, but it seems as if Nashville SC has what it takes to be fighting for one of those spots.
Ahead of the season, the Nashville SC U23 looked strong on paper, which landed them a spot among the Honorable Mentions in the preseason edition of the Eastern Conference Power Rankings. On Saturday, the club proved to be as good as expected, earning a convincing 6-1 win against Peachtree City MOBA at home. Martim Galvao, who finished the 2016 PDL season ranked No. 24 on the Top Prospects list, led the team with two goals scored. Blake Wilson also impressed, scoring once and assisting once in 62 minutes of action.That makes Nashville the second team in the South Atlantic Division, behind the Charlotte Eagles, who the PDL rates as the top team in the Eastern Conference. NSC comes in just ahead of fellow PDL debutants Tobacco Road FC, who also moved into the top five after winning their first two matches of the 2017 season.
